Tour Creator is a great online tool that will allow you and your students to create a real virtual journey on a computer using 360° images, simple photos or data from Google Maps.

If we are probably right to be wary of big companies like Google, we must also recognize their ability to offer sometimes quite formidable services. This is the case here with Google Tour Creator.

Dropped in the vast array of tools and services offered by the Mountain View company, Tour Creator is well known. It will allow you to create immersive multimedia experiences very easily for a distance course, lecture or module.

The use is really simple. To create your first virtual tour, simply click on the "Get Strated" button and then on "New Tour". Give your project a name and a short description. Finally, it remains to choose a category: History, Science, Nature, Art, etc.

Google had the good idea to gather a good amount of templates or templates ready to serve. Explore the one that suits you best, then you can customize it and adapt it to your project as you please.

A path consists of one or more images. You can upload them from your computer. Tour Creator allows you to add simple photos, but takes on its full dimension with 360° panoramic photos. You can use your own or use directly from the Google Street View app to insert a 360° image of any place on the planet.

On each image you will then be able to insert ‘points of interest’. In other words, interactive dots that can contain text, sound or other photos. When the reader walks through your virtual tour, he or she can click on his or her points to discover the content.

Easy to create, your virtual tour is also very simple to share. Google Tour Creator will save all your creations for you and provide you with a unique URL to share each one. You can also insert them very easily on a site or blog. Virtual tours can be viewed from any browser, but also work wonderfully from a smartphone or tablet.
