ReadLactu is a platform that offers free access to 13 daily newspapers and several magazines for French high school students and their teachers.

A real good idea the result of a partnership between the Ministry of National Education and the partner press titles that have agreed to play the game. The platform has been around for six months now and receives about 5,000 visitors a day.

LireLactu offers full and unlimited access on computer, tablet or portable at the Huma, La Croix, Le Figaro, Le Monde, Le Parisien, Les Échos, Libération. El Pais, Courrier International and New York Daily News will be added. The special feature of the service is that it can only be accessed from a school via the college or high school network. We would have liked a little more openness, in particular to allow teachers to prepare their pedagogical sequences from home.

But let's not shun our pleasure. LireLActu is good news for the world of education and training for future citizens.

The portal, proposed for the technical part by the company miLibris, is extremely simple to consult and use. It offers a daily press review of all available publications with their coverage. A portal accessible from anywhere. It is the reading of articles that is protected qet that will have to be done from a school.

By clicking on one of the covers, you can access a summary of the main articles of the day, the first lines of which you can read. Ideal for a quick snapshot of today's news from the press. Also use a search engine on the left-hand column to search the press of the day in full text.

Talk to your school manager. LireLactu is an interesting and useful resource. Access is free of charge.  The head of the establishment must make the request by sending an email to inscriptions@lirelactu.fr with: the name of the institution, the home academy, the name and email of the head of the institution, the RNE code, the public and fixed IP address of the college or high school.

Except that … my college (and it must not be the only one) does not have a fixed IP. Wifi, not in my academy! The … tablets we have in 24, if we want to use them, we have to borrow the 24 or nothing … So we can not access this precious resource.
