3 free image banks for all your creations

Last updated on 3 March 2018

Whether it is for a blog, a website, a poster or to illustrate a presentation, it is not always easy to find an image that combines aesthetics, technical quality and the ability to use it freely. Here are three image banks that will allow you to find beautiful, free, high-quality images for all your creations.

Table of Contents

Reshot.

Reshot

We start with the latest addition to the long list of online image banks. Reshot displays it in one, it only offers free photos. No risk of error, here all images are usable and even freely editable. Another particularity, Reshot claims to manually choose and index all its images. A guarantee of quality that is difficult to verify, but the result seems to be up to par.
Reshot offers a search engine where you will have to use the language of Shakespeare if you want to have relevant results. Images can be downloaded at the click of a button.

Pexels

Pexels is a service that is one of the most well-known and used tools. This popularity is rightly explained by a gigantic image base, all of which are of high quality. A fast and powerful search engine will help you find your needle in this huge haystack. (Research in English still required)
Pexels only offers free images but remember that behind each image there is a photographer. The platform puts them in the spotlight and you can discover the portfolio of each of them and even follow them. Also nice, Pexels offers a small extension for chrome that will display a beautiful randomly chosen image every time you open a new tab on your browser.

AllTheFreeStock

My third choice on this short list was AllTheFreeStock. It is a meta search engine for free images. In other words, it does not offer you its database but links to some 30 image banks. Convenient to surf from one site to another if you do not find your happiness. The interface of AllTheFreeStock is not flawless, to say the least, but the platform is ultimately quite practical. To search for photos, choose the service you want to explore from the menu bar on the right. You can also search all services at once.

Thank you for these image banks! I didn't know the first two.

    The following may be added:

    – pixabay.com – quality public domain photos (searches in FR and EN)
    – unsplash.com – quality public domain photos (research in EN)
    – skuawk.com – Most photos in CCO and other types of resources

With all this we can be quiet for a while!

    Good continuation.
