Retronews, the press site of the Biblioth\u00e8que Nationale de France, has just launched a new newsletter: The Letter of Education.<\/strong> I recommend it to you. As is always the case with the Bnf, these are quality educational resources.<\/p>\n

Retronews offers a good way to discover andteaching history through the press<\/a> of the time.<\/p>\n

Every month a new turnkey pedagogical sequence for teachers and their students<\/h2>\n

The Bnf has therefore just launched a free monthly newsletter, the education letter. Its purpose is to present a new pedagogical sequence<\/strong>\u00a0turnkey on a topic of\u00a0History programmes<\/strong> for middle and high school students. It's a really good idea.<\/p>\n

The site already featured some 40 sequences produced by the association Les Clionautes.\u00a0 Each of them is built with reproductions of newspaper articles taken from the Bnf archives. Additional online resources on the topic or on the time are linked and at the click of a button.<\/p>\n

Collaboration on the menu of the education letter of the month<\/h2>\n

The pedagogical sequence presented this month in the letter is aimed at third- and final-year students studying collaboration in the course of History. It makes it possible to understand the Service du Travail Obligatoire (STO).<\/p>\n

Retronews offers your students (but also all history buffs) three press articles from 1943 (the daily headlines)\u00a0Morning<\/em>, an article from\u00a0The Little Gironde<\/em>\u00a0and the front page of\u00a0The Berry Dispatch<\/em>). It addresses the biases used by the Vichy regime to impose the STO through increasingly coercive means.<\/p>\n
