We're sailing with a <strong>time slider at the bottom of the screen<\/strong>, a period is chosen and certain categories of entries (battles, inventions, philosophers, etc.) are displayed. A click on a point opens a short sheet provided by Wikipedia and Youtube as well as leads to go further.<\/p>\n<p>Please note: the tool is mainly designed for use on <strong>Computer (desktop)<\/strong> This is good if you use it in class for use in class with video projector\/TNI.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Des_fonctionnalites_pour_se_reperer_et_comment_eviter_leffet_%E2%80%9Ctrop_dinfos%E2%80%9D\"><\/span>Features to find your way around (and how to avoid the \u201ctoo much info\u201d effect)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The first time you can feel overwhelmed: Points appear everywhere. The right reflex is to frame exploration. Here's how to do it in three simple steps:<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"1_Reduire_la_periode_pour_rendre_la_carte_lisible\"><\/span>1) Reduce the period (to make the map readable)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Use the time bar at the bottom of the screen, instead of \u201cfrom antiquity to today\u201d, you can choose a \u201cshorter\u201d interval:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1490-1550 for the Great Discoveries;<\/li>\n<li>1780\u20131820 for revolutions;<\/li>\n<li>1914-1919 for the First World War;<\/li>\n<li>1933\u20131945 for the rise of totalitarianism and the Second World War.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You instantly move over the world map from a \u201cpoint cloud\u201d to something more actionable.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Filtrer_par_thematique_pour_donner_un_angle\"><\/span>2) Filter by theme (to give an angle)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>To do so, click on the small menu at the top left of the screen. Voius pouve allors choose to show only a few categories among the ten proposed. I like the one dedicated to literature or the one dedicated to famous women. Note that each category inherits a colour, which also allows you to better identify yourself among the many points displayed on the map. The aim is not to show everything, but to make a reading emerge: conflicts, advances, figures, explorations \u2026 This filter transforms the tool into a pedagogical magnifying glass.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"3_Zoomer_sur_une_zone%E2%80%A6_et_faire_parler_la_carte\"><\/span>3) Zoom into a \u2026 area and make the map speak<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Once an area is displayed, the tool becomes interesting when it is treated as a questioning medium:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Why is this territory concentrating events on this period?<\/li>\n<li>What changes if the 20-year time window is shifted?<\/li>\n<li>What do we see if we go from \u2018battles\u2019 to \u2018inventions\u2019?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This is where students stop<a href=\"https:\/\/outilstice.com\/2026\/01\/remonter-le-temps-avec-les-cartes-aeriennes-de-lign\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">look at a map<\/a>\u201d and can start <strong>interpret<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Globe of History ticks three useful boxes in history-geo: it helps to situate, link and contextualise events in time and space, while quickly putting students into activity through guided exploration and pairing exchanges.
