And when a student has a DYS disorder (dyslexia, dysorthography, \u2026 dyspraxia), goodwill is not always enough. Between the supports to be adapted, the instructions to be reformulated, the student\u2019s fatigue (and sometimes his own), one can quickly feel helpless. I can testify to that, \u2026.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is estimated that one to two pupils per class are involved. However, many teachers find themselves alone in these situations, without always knowing where to start or what tools to use. It is in order to meet this specific need that GMF Assurances has compiled a complete educational file, which is freely available for download online.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The idea is not to add one more layer of recommendations. And on the dyspraxia side, we find simple spatial landmarks (beginning\/end of line) and really airy supports.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This \u201cfolder + sheets\u201d format is valuable for a simple reason: we can <\/span><b>Draw Quickly<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> what we need, without having to go through ten different sources. And this is often what is missing: a synthetic, accessible basis that helps to make concrete choices.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There is also a working philosophy that speaks to me a lot: <\/span><b>adapt without overloading<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. There is no one-size-fits-all recipe for DYS students, as the factsheets explicitly state. Entry through the pupil\u2019s need, not through the catalogue of adaptations, remains the basic principle.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Faced with the multitude of tools available, the temptation is great to try everything at the risk of quickly running out and raises it too.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The kit recalls a very effective principle: <\/span><b>starting from the pupil\u2019s need<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, observe what really blocks, talk about it with parents and professionals who follow the child, and then <\/span><b>test one or two layouts<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, analyse the \u2026 effect and adjust.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is a simple logic, but avoids a lot of dispersion.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Des_adaptations_faciles_a_mettre_en_place_et_qui_changent_tout\"><\/span><b>Easy adaptations to put in place (and that change everything)<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15418\" src=\"https:\/\/outilstice.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/fiches-outils-dys.jpg\" alt=\"Example of GMF DYS Tool Sheet\" width=\"853\" height=\"446\" srcset=\"https:\/\/outilstice.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/fiches-outils-dys.jpg 1014w, https:\/\/outilstice.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/fiches-outils-dys-300x157.jpg 300w, https:\/\/outilstice.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/fiches-outils-dys-768x401.jpg 768w, https:\/\/outilstice.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/fiches-outils-dys-18x9.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 853px) 100vw, 853px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Among the proposed avenues, several developments come back as effective \u2018classics\u2019, because they reduce the cognitive load.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>1) Take care of the readability of the supports<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A few adjustments are often enough:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a no-frills font and a comfortable size;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a ventilated document (margins, line spacing);<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">avoid unnecessary visual clutter;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">guiding the gaze (e.g. highlighting or landmarks).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is not spectacular, but for a student who is already struggling to decode or write, the layout can make the difference between \u201cI give up\u201d and \u201cI put myself in it\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>2) Adapt reading and understanding<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The kit offers common sense, very \u201cfield\u201d tracks:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">accept half-voice reading if it helps;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">preference should be given to passages rather than text that is too long;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">use oralisation (teacher, peer, digital tools);<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">record certain lessons;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">redraft instructions and check understanding.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These are actions that often benefit the whole class, not just DYS students.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>3) Lighten the copy and vary the terms<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Many DYS students can understand, reason, explain \u2026 but find themselves blocked by writing (copying, dictation, note-taking).
