In other words, it is aimed at a knowledgeable public rather than at someone who would like a discovery or a more operational approach to this new way of teaching and learning about which so much is being talked about. This reflection and hindsight, to which the book contributes, is nevertheless necessary in the debate on pedagogical practices in the digital age.

Teaching and learning on the spot starts off as it should with a solid chapter that sets out to define ‘Inverted Classes’. A plural which, incidentally, states that there is no single model in this area. Concretely an inverted class how does it work? It is to this question that the authors then always answer in a very theoretical way. Concrete examples and testimonies would have been appreciated here to assess the application on the ground.

In a second large part of the book, the authors discuss the main pedagogical trends that form the basis of the inverted class and then a sort of checklist of what should not be forgotten when setting up an inverted class system, space management, contextualisation, remote accompaniment, evaluation, etc. Note also at the end of the book a bibliography and a filmography on this theme of the inverted class. It is far from complete and is likely to grow rapidly in the coming months.

Both authors are, in any case, fierce defenders of these new methods.
