LLN is an extension for your Chrome browser that will turn the Netflix video-on-demand platform into a smart tool for learning English<\/strong> or another language for that matter. LLN stands for Language Learning with Netflix or how to make the time spent in front of the tap profitable to Netflix videos;-).<\/p>\n

LLN had the good idea to make your students\u2019 favorite video site a good tool to enable them to improve their vocabulary in a foreign language. Learning a language while watching your favorite movie or series, there's a worse promise. Several services have already understood the value of using Netflix to learn a foreign language.\u00a0LLN offers another alternative, rather well done and without real flaws.<\/p>\n

Once installed in your browser, you will have an additional panel with language learning features when watching videos on the Netflix website. It only works on your computer at the moment, but the designers are working on a tablet version.<\/p>\n

LLN goes from one click to equip the Netflix player with new functions\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Subtitles are presented simultaneously with a translation into the language you want to learn.<\/strong> Comparing the translation with the audio and the original text makes it possible to assimilate a lot of things.<\/p>\n

The LLN extension also allows take control over the playback of the video<\/strong>. You can go through the phases one by one and listen to them at your own pace. You can go back and listen to a sentence as many times as you want. You can also slow down the dialogue to listen to the words said too quickly. The creators of the extension had the good idea to install a number of useful keyboard shortcuts to be able to easily juggle all these reading commands and jump from one sentence to another or pause the reading for example.<\/p>\n

Very practical too, the extension tells you which words are important words to learn,<\/strong> and which words can be set aside for later depending on your level. In the settings you can choose the number of words to study. There is also a built-in dictionary that is displayed with one click to have the definition of a word.<\/p>\n

Learn English, but also many other languages by watching movies<\/h2>\n

With this system installed in your browser you can of course improve your English, but also many other languages.\u00a0Netflix offers a large selection (German, English, Danish, Spanish, French, Italian, Norwegian, Dutch, Portuguese, Italian, Swedish, Turkish), and a smaller selection, but still useful for less spoken languages.<\/p>\n

As not all films are suitable for LLN, the extension offers you a very practical web page<\/a> which lists a good of the films available that takes into account your mother tongue and the language you want to learn. Ultra practical.<\/p>\n
