What do you do when you have a question that tarnishes you?<\/strong> We're putting it down to Mr. Google. But how did we do it before Google? We would look for an answer in books, in dictionaries, in encyclopedias, and sometimes in libraries. The librarians knew how to do detailed research and provided reliable answers. They always know. But we probably ask them less.<\/p>\n

\"InterroGE\"<\/p>\n

The librarians of the city of Geneva have not given up in front of the Google juggernaut and perpetuate on an absolutely brilliant site this tradition and this know-how<\/strong>. InterroGE: The answer is human proudly proclaims the site. Frankly, there's something to be proud of. InterroGE is a service offered by eleven libraries of the City of Geneva. The librarians of these different institutions combine their know-how and resources in order to provide reliable answers to all\u00a0questions. I love it.<\/span><\/p>\n

On InterroGE, anyone can ask questions<\/h2>\n

Everyone, young and old, from 7 to 77 years old, InterroGE takes everyone's questions. The service is completely free. The operation is simple. You fill out an online form and ask your question. All topics are accepted. You send the form and three days later, you receive the answer. InterroGE\u00a0guarantees a response in a maximum of three days, except on weekends and public holidays.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thanks to the site everyone benefits from the answers<\/h2>\n

The website set up by this collective intelligence provided by the Swiss librarians allows all Internet users to take advantage of the answers. You will find in free access the archives of most of the questions and answers handled by InterroGE.<\/p>\n

\nTo facilitate research, questions and answers are categorised into no less than 20 categories. From art and botany to history and economics, a veritable cave of Ali Baba. You can also use a full-text search engine that will find the right answer in the considerable haystack of questions and answers archived on the site.<\/p>\n

How long will it take for the ice caps and ice packs to melt?<\/strong> asks for an 8-year-old child. The question was only a few days ago. The answer is not lapidary. Each question is treated with attention by the librarians behind the site and generates a complete and reasoned answer with obviously many bibliographical references. More than 7,500 questions are archived. A real happiness.<\/p>\n

You understood it as a favorite site.<\/strong> And a big hat-trick to all the teams involved in this collective work of public utility in Geneva. At a time when self-service automata, machines and computers are beginning to invade all libraries, a fine demonstration of the know-how of library professionals is emerging.<\/p>\n
