Fleex is an online tool forlearn English through an ingenious system using subtitles from films or TV series.
Suffice to say that it will not necessarily be very difficult to convince a learner to work in English on such a basic medium. In any case, it should make things easier.
Ingenious idea than that of the creators of Fleex. They developed a method based on double subtitling. You watch a movie known in English with subtitles. The latter according to your level can be at times either in English, or in French, or both.
You can at any time by clicking on a word display its identity card and translation. By the way, you can add it to a virtual wordbook offered by Fleex. A way to gradually enrich your vocabulary. Ingenious. All the more ingenious because Fleex will then offer you, in a part of the site dedicated to exercises, individual tests that, as if by magic, will be based on the words in your favorite word book.
The Fleex service is centered on a video player with specific functions. This video player provided by Fleex has been particularly well thought out to allow you to navigate through the subtitles of a video and gradually memorise words and phrases. You move from one subtitle to another by simply dragging the mouse over the subtitle area. You can of course stop the video at any time, go back, go forward, replay a scene or sequence. You can also speed up the film, but above all much more practical you can slow it down to practice understanding the sentences in v.o said by the actors.
Fleex is quite a good idea with a host of interesting options that thoroughly dusted off some multimedia methods of learning English.
To use Fleex you need to register. You will first define your level of English and the time you can spend per week learning. All this will allow Fleex to offer you a completely personalized program with objectives that the service will encourage you to achieve to improve you.
To watch films and series Fleex also innovates by offering several means. You will be able to see YouTube videos and TED conferences directly on the site, but you can also download a Fleex player to watch videos you may have on your computer. You can also use the popcorn service to watch movies from Torrents. For my part, I tested the service using my Netflix account. Ultra practical. Fleex offers you a plugin for your browser that allows you to Make Netflix a real language lab.
Playful and effective. Unfortunately, Fleex does not yet provide a specific service for teachers or schools. You can test the service for free on a video. then you will have to go through the checkout. With a subscription of 5 EUR per month, you can also invest in around EUR 30, which will allow you to use the service for life. An investment quickly profitable with real progress in Shakespeare's language.
