Media and education. Indispensable working brochure of the Clemi for this back-to-school

Media and education: We learn! This is the title of the now traditional back-to-school brochure offered by the Clemi to teachers for assist in their Media and Information Education projects.

This working document has been in existence for several years, and it has probably never been more important than at the time of this re-entry into the context as we know it. I have read this brochure in detail, I recommend it to you.

The Clemi team coordinated by Isabelle Feroc Dumez, its Scientific Director did a good job. A useful and practical work with concrete pedagogical tracks for the 1st and 2nd degrees. The brochure also provides teachers with tracks or "pedagogical frameworks" concerning Interdisciplinary Practical Teachings (IPT).

The tragic events of recent months remind us, if need be, of the urgent need for the training of pupils in the information society.

This brochure is a good working tool to address this central theme in classrooms. You will find there all official texts and content adapted to new programs. There are pedagogical tracks for the different degrees that can serve as inspiration for your own sequences. Also of interest are testimonials from teachers who have experimented with sequences or participated in operations organised by Clemi. Again this is concrete, their advice alone is worth reading this brochure.

Media and education: We learn! also offers several pages devoted to the key concepts of EMI with strong sources and references. The brochure offers, for example, two full pages devoted to the uses of the media by the French particularly instructive. Where we see the importance of social networks and the web compared to traditional media or the habits of consultation of the youngest.

Mathieu Jeandron, Director of Digital at the Ministry, says it in a column on page 42
 “Media literacy is an absolute necessity in today’s ubiquitous digital age”. Undoubtedly. These 48 pages proposed to teachers by the Clemi in this brochure participate in their own way.
