3 online tools for brainstorming with your students

How to involve your students in brainstorming or brainstorming around a virtual whiteboard? How to introduce them to simple collaborative tools to create together or organize their ideas? Here are three simple online tools to experiment with this form of active pedagogy.

Stoodle.

We've already presented Stoodle right here some time ago. This online whiteboard allows multiple participants to interact in real time on the content of your virtual paperboard. You do not need an email to register. The exchange area accepts files, images and videos. It also offers an online chat for direct text and sound exchanges. Stoodle works on any type of browser and on iOS or Android tablets.

DotStorming

Another very simple tool to use even if the interface here is also available in English. DotStorming is a virtual board that will allow one class group to add and submit items for the assessment of others. In the form of maps combining text and images, DotStorming will allow everyone to express themselves via a chat system. He also proposed an option to put to the vote different ideas, options or possible variants presented on the screen. Like Stoodle, DotStorming works on a browser, but also on a tablet.

NotebookCast

This third service is limited to ten simultaneous participants. It offers a shared space for drawing, writing, inserting shapes and colors. It works wonderfully on a tablet whether it is an iPad or an Android tablet. You can also upload images. The use is very simple to understand. Participants have nothing to install on their device. As with the other two tools, you can use NotebookCast without the need to register and provide an email. You create a shared table with a single click. Each table is accompanied by a unique URL that will allow you to invite participants to your brainstorming session.
