Since the last school year, a new education has entered into force at the high school, the SNT (Digital Sciences and Technology). Education aimed at all Secondary school pupils, with a teaching time of 1h30 per week. Objective: To understand the main concepts of digital sciences, but also to allow students to understand the growing weight of digital technology and the issues that arise from it.
It was time, the stakes are high. The aim is to give young people the keys to a better understanding of a digital world in which they have been immersed for quite some time now. Fake news and cyberviolence or cyberbullying regularly make headlines.
In the field of social networks, how can we pass on the necessary precautions and hindsight to our students?
This is one of the work strands to address one of the seven themes in the NTS programme of the year. The publisher Delagrave offers an answer to this challenge with a textbook, paper and digital, of which I have already said all the good I thought right here, which takes over the entire NTS programme.
The chapter on social media also starts with an interactive test This will allow students to measure their level independently.
Vocabulary of social networks, registrations, publications, protection, the Delagrave manual goes around the question by encouraging the reader to take stock of what he knows, what he does not know and especially what he thinks he knows.
It is then a series of interactive activities that are proposed before arriving at a comprehensive and detailed course covering all the concepts discussed.
How can we protect ourselves from cyberviolence?
Among the turnkey activities proposed in the handbook, the one on cyberviolence is of real public utility. The teachers who designed the Delagrave textbook did a good job. In two pages, the main point is four docs illustrated and enriched with a video and several external references to identify the different forms of cyberviolence, recognise cyberbullying, know what the law says and, above all, know what to do when you are either a victim or a witness of cyberbullying.
