StoryJumper is an online service that makes it easy to create beautiful story books with your students. Multimedia books that can be consulted online for free or printed for a few euros and thus obtain a beautiful paper book.
Storyjumper has only one real flaw. Its interface is in English. For the rest, the tool has been designed for use in the classroom and offers a range of very interesting options.
Create a real book in class
Storyjumper is very simple to use. It should appeal to authors aged 7 to 77. The platform offers a real integrated publishing studio that allows you to compose your story books in a fun way. You can choose characters, objects or cartoon-style decors and customize them according to your desires and the theme of your story.
Everything is done by dragging and dropping on each page of the book. You can of course add text and images or photos directly imported from your computer.
Storyjumper also offers the possibility to add sound. You can add your voice to read the story aloud page after page. Nice to meet you.
Writing a book in class with several
Creating multi-story books is even better than doing it alone. Storyjumper makes it easy to create as a team. Multiple people can edit the same book at the same time. The system even provided for a system of live dialogue between authors. Ideal to make your students work in a group.
Storyjumper offers teacher access that will allow you to give access to your class and each student. This requires a free registration to the service. Students will not need to give an email address to use the tool, a class code will allow them to access the books.
The teacher can manage one or more classes and all of his/her pupils.
Once your book is finished, you can view it online or share it via a single url provided by the service. You can also embed it in a website or blog. All these functions are free of charge. Storyjumper can also, if you wish, print the book with a nice cardboard cover but there you will of course have to go through a payment. Count between ten and twenty euros for a 16-page book. You can also retrieve a PDF file to print it yourself for a few euros.
A good tool to create books for real This is reminiscent of tools such as: Book Creator or StoryBird presented here some time ago.

I used Story Jumper in a collaborative writing project with foreign partners. The ease with which one can share a book is really appreciable, allowing each class to contribute at its own pace. The ability to record audio is also a plus in a foreign language project.
