I wrote here thatAntidote was in my opinion the best tool for correction and drafting assistance. The new edition of Antidote had not changed my mind. Quite the contrary.
Just recently, a major innovation has emerged for the web version of Antidote: reformulation through generative artificial intelligence.

Table of Contents
A simplified interface for better ergonomics
This is the most visible change in Antidote 11. The corrector interface has been refined, brought up to date with a certain sobriety and graphic elegance. The creators of the Antidote correction software wanted to reduce secondary elements as much as possible. The idea is to leave the central place, the whole place, to the text. The interface has been redesigned. We can hide the panels on the sides present in previous editions. Instead, the software inaugurates a horizontal bar with the main functions in which we will be able to add custom shortcuts. We gain clarity and ergonomics. A real success.
Antidote 11 offers more than 100 new products
But it is when we lift the hood of the Antidote software that we perceive the importance of the changes made in this eleventh edition.
No less than 100 new features, not to mention improvements. This ranges from a much faster start-up to an advanced customisation of the software.
From the point of view of the corrector, it is even more efficient and precise than its previous version. It offers new style corrections. It detects heaviness and syntactic repetitions and presents so-called intelligent reformulations.
A new neural engine to help with text correction
The publisher of Antidote, the company Druide, celebrated its 25th anniversary in its last edition. He wanted to mark the event and chart an important step in the future of computerised correction by introducing a new neural engine, which benefits from deep learning. The beginning of a revolution for writing aid software.

In this edition of Antidote, this new technology makes it possible, for example, to detect commas and missing words in a sentence. Spectacular. This is just the beginning, but the prospects for the evolution of this technology are exciting.
Generative artificial intelligence enters Antidote
This is the great surprise and good news of the beginning of the year, Antidote Web now offers generative AI reformulation.

Generative artificial intelligence in Antidote works by using language models to reformulate entire sentences or paragraphs. These models are based on deep learning algorithms and artificial neural networks, which allow the machine to learn and generate relevant and contextually appropriate textual content.
The teams of Druide Informatique, composed of linguists and deep learning specialists, have developed their own reformulation technology using an open source language model as a basis, which they then refined to meet Antidote’s specific needs. This technology is hosted on their own servers, which means that it is not built on ChatGPT or other existing generative models.
In practice, when the user wants to reformulate a sentence or paragraph, they can use Antidote Web to get up to three different reformulation proposals. The user can then choose the version that suits them best and integrate it directly into their text. This feature can be accessed via a floating icon or button in Antidote’s web interface.
In other words, generative AI in Antidote analyses the original text, understands the context and structure of sentences, and generates alternatives that preserve the meaning and style of the author while potentially improving the clarity or fluidity of the text.

I have been testing this function for a few days, the proposals for reformulation are most of the time very relevant. For the time being, this is a beta test open to all Antidote+ and Antidote Web users. The final version may well accompany the release of the 14th edition of Antidote.
By keeping control of the technology used for reformulation, we know that the The results generated are processed by Antidote, which ensures the quality of the text produced. A guarantee of excellence.

Antidote 11 makes the language speak
Artificial intelligence was already used in another of the major novelties of writing aid software. Antidote in its connected versions, Antidote and Antidote Web in Antidote+, offers an audio player that allows you to listen to the pronunciation of all the words in the dictionaries in two different types of accents, French and Canadian. Druide used Deep Learning from voice recordings of professional actors and actresses. And words, Antidote knows a considerable number of them.
The built-in dictionaries are enriched with each new version. For this eleventh edition, the Antidote correction software is enriched with 3000 new words such as ‘vaccinodrome’ or ‘eco-anxiety’. The English version wins 5,000 new words.
The novelties of Antidote 11 are too numerous to be able to detail them all here. The possibility to install custom settings alone would merit a separate item. We can finally add our own rules to Antidote and make it adopt the vocabulary specific to a particular field for example.
New useful functions in the classroom
Antidote is known for its correction functions and integrated dictionaries useful for students with dyslexic and dysorthographic disorders. The new edition offers other novelties that can be useful in the classroom.
- A dictionary of rhymes.
Antidote 11 adds a new reference book to its many dictionaries: a dictionary of rhymes and quasi-rimes. You or your students will be able to use it for composition or poetry exercises.
- An audio player to listen to the words.
Students can listen to the pronunciation of words directly in Antidote from built-in dictionaries. This works for French, but also for English. - A language research tool.
A small magnifying glass in the corrector interface will indicate all occurrences of a word, but also synonyms, words from the same family, from the same lexical field. Ideal for showing your students the entire semantic network of a text.
As you can see, this new edition of Antidote is a great gift to be made. For those who write, for those who teach, for all language lovers.
It is possible to purchase an annual subscription to Edition 11 of Antidote or to purchase a perpetual license. Antidote is marketed in France by the Mysoft Company.
