History boxes. History through comics

History boxes is a great news and analysis website dedicated to the comic strip’s vision of history. A real crush.

Shame on me, Cases d’histoire has been around for quite some time now, I only discovered it a few days ago. Webmagazine devoted to comics, this site seeks to decipher the representation of historical facts in the 9th art.

It is animated by historians who are both great readers and great fans of comics. All this produces an exciting cocktail and quality content that can give rise to many uses in the classroom.

Cases d’histoire allows you to discover the latest releases with albums classified by historical period. Ideal for example if you are looking for Bd on for example the middle age that you are currently approaching. Each album is presented in detail with numerous illustration boards. There are also regular interviews with authors.

You can also consult the history of comics or the section devoted to debates through conferences and interviews.

For my part, I have a weakness in the ‘commented boxes’ section. Historians, scientists and academics analyse one or more bd boxes taken from major historical bd albums. An interesting deciphering of the vision carried by the comic strip of the great periods or historical moments. Interesting and often even exciting.

An original approach to historical comics that could arouse desires and ideas of courses in boxes and bubbles. A real success.
