Educational games sites, there are many. Free, already much less. Without advertising, open access, thought by a teacher for … teachers there, it becomes really very rare.
Between sites riddled with advertisements, expensive subscriptions and interfaces too complex for young students, we often end up getting discouraged.
And then we come across The Lama Class.

It is a nugget as I like them. A site of absolute generosity, completely free of charge, without any advertising, and above all of great pedagogical intelligence. Behind this project is Maxime Becquet, a teacher and ERUN (Teacher Referent to the Uses of Digital) passionate, who develops on his free time tools that really facilitate life in the classroom.
I love it and I will tell you why.
Table of Contents
A simple … site and it feels good
The site offers a collection of well thought-out educational games in French and mathematics, as well as Practical tools for the classroom. You can download or play them directly online, on PC, tablet or smartphone.
One of the first highlights of La Classe du Lama is its sobriety. No unnecessary frills, no flashing banners that distract students. We arrive on a clean interface where everything is just a click away.
Activities are cut very clearly, mainly for levels Kindergarten and CP/CE1. The grip is instantaneous.
You click. You're playing. Your students are learning.
The site works without registration. No account to create. No e-mails to fill in. You project the activity to the table or you share the link: Let’s go.
This technical sobriety is a huge advantage in class.
- Zero account : you open, you launch, let’s go.
- Zero distraction : No ads, no pop-ups.
- A link to project / share (TNI, projector, ENT).
- Autonomy + express remediation on a skill, in 5-10 minutes.
Concretely, it is a perfect site for intelligently furnishing “small times” : a 10-minute workshop in autonomy while you are with a group, or a morning ritual at the TNI without preparation. And when a notion gets stuck after an evaluation, you can launch a targeted mini-game (numeration, sounds, reading) to make the immediate remediation, without leaving a pile of sheets.
In short, you save time. A lot.

Short, targeted, effective games to cover all fundamentals
The application catalogue is well filled. Maxime Becquet has managed to turn skills into fun and motivating challenges.
Here, no labyrinthine "serious game" that requires 40 minutes of grip. Activities go straight to the point: Work on a specific skill through an interactive mini-game.
The format is reminiscent of interactive exercises LearningApps or H5P… with a more playful graphic touch.
The exercises mix manipulation, sorting, multiple choices, drag and drop. Perfect for varying paper sheets.
Mathematics: from manipulation to calculation
You will find great tools to work with the numerals. Special mention for the Flower of Numbers or the game of Apple tree, perfect for manipulating quantities and understanding the decomposition of numbers visually. Students learn without even realising it.
French: phono and reading
TheReading Learning is at the heart of the proposed resources. Of games on syllables, rhymes or the study of sounds enable high-quality autonomous training. The audio is neat, clear and child-friendly.
Introduction to programming: control the grid
This is one of the site’s strengths: l‘Learning coding disconnected and spatial orientation. The module dedicated to grid travel is very successful.
- Absolute travel: The student uses arrows (up, down, left, right) to move the character. This is the ideal step to consolidate the basic spatial landmarks.
- Relative travel: We are climbing a notch in difficulty. Here, the student must put himself “in the place” of the character to decide whether to turn left or right. This is an excellent preparation before switching to physical robots such as Bee-Bot or learning about Scratch Jr.
Interactive rituals
The site also offers modules well adapted to your morning rituals. Work on the date, the weather or time interactively on the board. These interactive tools make these collective moments much more dynamic and visual for students.

Smart utilities for your daily life
Beyond games, the site offers in this Teachers Zone accessible via a simple password (indicated on the homepage) many useful resources. You will find:
- Complete documentation which connects each application to the competences of Cycles 1 and 2. Each game is accompanied by a detailed sheet specifying the pedagogical objectives, the levels targeted and the methods of use.
- Downloadable versions for all systems: Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, iPad. An installation tutorial is included. These versions even work offline, which is perfect if your internet connection is capricious.
- Printable resources : posters for the class, games to print, supports to accompany digital activities, and even albums to exploit in connection with certain games.
Why are you going to love the Lama Class?
- Zero advertising: A healthy and safe environment.
- Totally free of charge: No hidden paid options, everything is offered.
- Mastered pedagogy: Created by a teacher who knows the field.
- Multi-supports: Online, on tablet or in downloadable version.
Limits, of course. The site does not offer results tracking, class creation, score export, or exercise customisation.
It is not an LMS platform, but it is not its objective.
The Lama Class assumes its positioning: offer ready-to-use, fast, efficient games without technical constraints. And in this role, he perfectly fulfills his mission.
The spirit of a collaborative project
The Lama Class is not a large industrial machine. The author responds to messages, takes into account feedback from colleagues and develops his tools according to the needs of the community. The project has been structured in association to ensure its sustainability.
If you use these tools, feel free to send a word of encouragement or donate to the association. It is thanks to this solidarity that such projects continue to exist.
They are in the public interest.
In short, head out to discover La Classe du Lama. It’s simple, it’s beautiful, it’s effective and it’s done by a colleague for colleagues. What more can I ask for?
