3 tools to save paper and ink in class.

Last updated on 3 May 2020

If the paperless rule at school is not for tomorrow, it is possible with well-thought-out online tools to reduce paper and ink consumption when preparing your courses or when printing in the classroom. We are increasingly using the internet as a resource for our footage, but often a web page includes many advertisements that consume a lot of paper and ink at the time of printing. Here are three online tools that will give you better control over what you print. Your wallet will say thank you and the planet too 😉

Cleanprint1 – CleanPrint is one of my favorite tools. These are:a free extension for the Chrome browser. Once installed, a button appears on your navigation bar. When you want to print a web page, just click on it. CleanPrint instantly shows you an optimized preview of the page that will be printed.
A side toolbar can then be used to intervene on the content of the page. You can delete paragraphs or images, you can also add notes to your page. Ultra practical.

Printfriendly2- PrintFriendly is a tool that makes it possible to Easily remove ads and side columns from a page of a site to print only the content of an article. There are two ways to use PrintFriendly. You can copy and paste the URL of the page you want to print on PrintFriendly or install a bookmarklet on your browser.

Here too you can optimize the content you want to print and delete paragraphs or images.

Clearly evernote3- Clearly is also a great tool especially if you are already using Evernote. Evernote is an online service that lets you remember everything you need. We will talk about it very soon here, as it is, in my opinion, part of the essential tools in our digital life.
Clearly, developed by the people of Evernote, also makes it possible to obtain clean and easily printable documents from any web page. Once installed in your browser, this one-click extension will do wonders and show you any web page in an elegant format and without any frills or advertising. A real happiness.
Clearly also makes it possible to highlight text passages in color, you can also have the text read by a digital voice which works perfectly in English. A little worse in French, but the result is still quite bluffing. Best of all, if you have an Evernote account, Clearly will allow you to save the content of a click in your account for later reading.
