Update April 2020 - The site no longer exists
PicoVico is an online multimedia tool that allows create a beautiful video from a series of photos.
PicoVico is particularly easy to use and allows teachers and students alike to make videos mixing texts and videos in a few minutes. The particularly successful result will simply highlight the work done.
Once registered on the service, you will be able to start creating your first video. It is enough to give it a title. PicoVico then offers you to choose a video model. To help you in your choice, the site offers you a preview system of each model. Very nice models. I have a small preference for one that represents a book with turning pages.
The next step is to upload the images. You can insert up to 30 photographs. You will then be able to also insert pages of text and play with the order of images and text boxes. Once satisfied with your "editing" place to the music. You can again choose a music from those provided by the site or upload yours in mp3 format.
It is almost over. Add credits if desired, a description, and click Create Video. A few minutes later, the video is ready. You can share by email or on social networks. You can also – and this is particularly useful –insert in a site or blog of a class for example thanks to the code provided by PicoVico.
In the classroom.
We like the ease of use of PicoVico which makes it possible to make it available to students even young as the grip is intuitive even if the site is English. You can ask them to create a video based on a research topic and documents they can find online. PicoVico also adapts particularly well to the creation of a video made from photos taken during a school trip or an out-of-class trip.
PicoVico is fully online and works on all modern browsers. The site is free.
