Mentimate. Survey your class live

Last updated on 3 December 2024

Mentimate is a tool that makes it possible to conduct live surveys in the classroom.

For your presentations or amphi lessons in front of a large audience, Mentimeter will allow you to create moments of interactivity with your students by offering you the opportunity to gather their feedback on-line.

Mentimeter allows you to create a survey and get the results and display them in real time. The use can not be simpler. You create your question or questions on the Mentimeter website. You define the possible answers then you choose a theme from those proposed by the site and validate.

The next step is to propose the survey to your auditors. They can participate online on their computers, mobile phones or tablets. Voting is done via a unique URL and a special code that you will have to communicate to them. For a participant, the vote is done in just a few seconds. Once you have logged in to your survey, all you have to do is indicate your choice with one click.

The result is displayed in real time as a graphic with visual bars to allow you to easily interpret the result. A result you can display on screen of your presentation so that all participants can see it and possibly allow you to comment on it.

Mentimeter is a good tool for probing large groups, in an amphitheatre for example. Very flexible and easy to use, this service can allow you to check that a point in your presentation has been well understood or to ask a question to start a debate, an exchange with the room. More broadly, introduce a dose of interactivity with your students.

Mentimeter offers a free version and another paid version. The free version is largely sufficient for use in a course or conference.
