Young Cnil. A useful portal on the dangers of the internet

Young Cnil is a specific information portal for young people and teachers developed by the National Commission for Informatics and Liberties.

As the back-to-school season picks up its nose, here an online resource that will allow you to find quality information and educational materials on the risks to your students from unthinking use of the Internet and social networks.

Young Cnil offers several Entrances dedicated to different audiences: young people, teachers, parents, each with dedicated resources. In the area dedicated to young people there is the newspaper L’Actu and Mon Quotidien Spécial Internet et vie Privée, which can be downloaded freely. More fun, the Young Cnil portal offers an interactive game with Les Incollables cards. Are you unbelievable about how to protect your privacy on the Internet and networks? asks the CNIL. The game is aimed at young people but a teacher is not prohibited from doing so.

Teachers will find in their dedicated space a dozen methodological sheets and as many pedagogical sheets. It is not huge, but the pedagogical sheets are rather well done to address the different issues related to internal use by young people. A list of questions and answers and some tutorials complete the device.

In the end an interesting and necessary resource. It will be regrettable that shelving especially for teachers is not more provided and a somewhat austere youth space that would benefit from offering a direct dialogue with specialists in the form of comments or open forums.
