One text, one day. Rediscover and play with literature

Last updated on 12 February 2025

One text, one day is a mobile application for iOs and Android that offers you rediscover and play with authors and texts from French literature. I love it.

Created some time ago by a French teacher from the Paris region, Un text, un jour gives you an appointment every morning with a new excerpt from a large literary text directly in your pocket via your smartphone or tablet.

A text one day

A text of 10 to 15 lines carefully chosen, put in context and accompanied by a short note on the author. What refreshes the memory, revise its great classics or discover new texts. This small dose of daily reading is a real treat. A little pleasure that you can share directly by email from the application.

The author had the good idea to enrich the application with a game system that was also quite addictive. First of all, you have a daily challenge in the form of a multiple-choice question. You click on what you think is the right answer and wait until the next day for the correction.

The application of a text, one day also offers a full-fledged games section. You choose a topic or author, the level and number of questions you want to answer. The following screen hides an image. Each time you answer a question correctly you discover a part of it in a Jeopardy way. A final question will ask you about the image. Playful.

Play a text one day

The application is free of charge (0.80 cents on Android). A paid option at 0.99 Eur allows you to save your favorite texts and search the database.

On the same principle, the author also proposes A text a day on Anglo-Saxon literature and A poem, one day. These last two are not free, you will have to pay 0.99 Eur to download them.

In the end a real good idea to revise or distract yourself.
