Book publishers were among the first to respond to the coronavirus pandemic that led to the closure of schools, colleges, high schools and universities for several weeks. The largest publishing houses have made digital versions of their textbooks and school books available free of charge to teachers, parents and students. An opportunity to discover the richness of this publishing sector in France.
A detailed review of open access resources. This article will be updated according to the novelties that will come to me. If you know of other publishers who have opened their digital libraries or if you are a publisher and would like to be included in this list, send me an email to fidel.navamuel at toolstice.com. This will allow me to enrich this resource and share it with as many people as possible.

More than 600 textbooks are made available free of charge by the publishers of the Hachette group (Les éditions Hatier, Hachette Éducation, Istra, Foucher, Didier). All student textbooks can be used online. The online reader is very ergonomic. Generation 5

The publisher of the world of education Generation 5 is in turn committed to contributing to the continuity of school learning as it can no longer be provided in the classroom. Generation 5 makes it clear that it is not a question of replacing the initiatives taken by Education Nationale to ensure pedagogical continuity. Just a little stone in the building.
The publisher thus offers free access to textbooks and exercise books. They have opened the service with mathematics, from CE2 to 3rd grade. Resources for other disciplines and educational levels will be added over time.

Sondo by Mobidys

Another excellent complementary resource is the SONDO platform, which we have already had the opportunity to talk about here on several occasions. Sondo by Mobidys offers an online library of school books and literature included in the programme accessible for Dys children and beyond for all children with reading difficulties. In the shelves of Sondo dozens of textbooks sounded to complete the paper textbooks but especially versions in FROG format for many works of literature. The people of Mobidys have developed, together with speech therapists and researchers, an absolutely incredible format dedicated to Dys children. Very easy to use by the reader on a tablet, it offers several options to promote deciphering, maintain attention, facilitate understanding. That's great. Sondo offers students and teachers free access to the SONDO Library until the normal resumption of classes.

Hello,
I am AESH in middle school, I greatly appreciated and used the links to the digital textbooks to help my students during the lockdown. It's great to finally have access to your resources, but unfortunately it's over.
Teachers are generally entitled to free access to a digital version of the textbooks used in the school by publishers.
We are national education staff, we have to help students in difficulty … and to have access to e-books we have to pay, while we have salaries much lower than teachers.
When will publishers take our function into account? When will these specific situations be taken into account? It would not be so complicated to give us access as for teachers like them we have an academic email address, we can provide the list of textbooks used in our school and a numen. We just have another function and other needs.
Thank you for your understanding. And most importantly, thank you for making these valuable tools available to us during the lockdown.
