How to address gender equality in school? We know the importance of school and the education system. There are many good-billed resources on the net. For this article, on 8 March and International Women’s Day, I chose to identify resources that highlight female characters.
Historical heroines or everyday heroines, inspiring portraits so that today’s girls do not hesitate to get started, follow their desires and dreams, overcome prejudices and shatter all barriers. Here is a list of online resources to address the cause of women in 2023.

Decode the word feminism
Let's start with a useful and necessary reminder about the Lumni Platform with this video that decodes the word feminism. What is feminism? Where is it in France and in the world, a three-minute video proposed by France Tv. A good starting point for an exchange or work in college or high school on the subject of fighting against inequalities between women and men.

Portraits of women to inspire girls
Portraits of well-known women can have an inspiring effect on young girls by encouraging them to combat gender discrimination. By presenting strong and inspiring female role models, they can develop their self-confidence.
Portraits of women can also blow up some gender stereotypes for girls and boys by showing that women are successful in all fields, be it science, politics, art or sport.

Tools to raise girls' awareness of gender discrimination by showing them that despite obstacles and prejudices, women have managed to make a difference in their professional and personal lives. Encouraging girls to fight for their rights and for gender equality.
Women and science
Several Women’s associations in mathematics, science and engineering have been investing in schools for some time to encourage girls to specialise in these fields by highlighting their skills and knowledge. The aim is to promote inclusive and gender-equitable education, providing equal opportunities for girls and boys to access scientific and technical studies and careers.
Following the example of Marie Curie
101 years ago, on 7 February 1922, Marie Curie became the first woman to enter the Academy of Medicine. This date marks the recognition of his work by the scientists of his time. The excellent website 1 day 1 actu of Milan Youth offers on the occasion of 8 March a video for the youngest telling the story of Marie Curie’s incredible life and explains why it has remained famous in history.
I also advise you My friend Natacha Henry's book "Mary and Bronia, the Covenant of the Sisters" Albin Michel, which tells the story of Mary, but also the much less well-known story of Bronia her sister. A beautiful story of women.
Digital decoders
We stay in the sciences, but through comics this time. A comic to inspire vocations in the digital sciences. This is the nice project that one of the CNRS labs succeeded in and to which I dedicated an article some time ago. “Les decodeuses du numérique” is a comic book that offers twelve portraits of researchers, teacher-researchers and engineers, which comic book illustrator and author Léa Castor has drawn with her delicate paw. Great resource for your students.

Posters women in history
The feminist website ‘History by Women’ offers free posters to download. Posters showcasing female aviators, scientists and combatants … Posters showcasing small pieces of great history and the women who have marked them. The posters are available in .pdf format. They are designed to be printed in A3 format, but they remain readable in A4 format. Turnkey ideas to address the topic.

The caps
The series Culottées, a cartoon adaptation of Pénélope Bagieu’s work, features portraits of pioneering, liberating and inspiring women. Originally, “Culottées” was a blog before being published as a comic book by Gallimard. In Culottées, Pénélope Bagieu tells the story of 30 women from all continents, most of them unknown in France, who braved prohibitions and overcome obstacles to advance society. The series is visible on the website of France.tv.

Against prejudice, series of France Télévision
UN Women. All women in the world
To finish a detour by the UN Women website. UN Women is the UN organisation that implements programmes, policies and standards to defend women’s human rights and ensure that every woman and girl can reach their full potential in life.

The UN for Gender Equality
Closing remarks to Emma Watson, UN Women Goodwill Ambassador: ‘No country in the world can claim to have achieved gender equality.’
