Linoit. Collaborative wall for the class

Last updated on 15 February 2025

Linoit is a CTBT tool that makes it possible to build a virtual and collaborative wall on which to share notes, files, photos and videos.

Linoit looks and can advantageously replace the old cork board by simply creating a space for collaborative work and exchanges. Like other tools of the same kind that we have already discussed on Tools TICE, Linoit is very easy to implement, and its intuitive use does not require long learning.

Linoit allows you to create a virtual wall or table without the need to register. The configuration of each table allows either to make it public, but only for consultation or to allow readers to add and modify elements.

Linoit

Linoit allows adding orpinning notes in the form of small virtual papers in color. They may contain tags to help you find them better. You can hang and edit images which you can comment and share by email.

Linoit also allowsdisplay of videos. Simply indicate the URL of the video on the YouTube or Vimeo sharing platforms. Finally, very convenient also you can pinning files of any kind that your readers will then be able to download.

Navigating a table is made easier by having a map at the bottom of the screen on the right that shows a thumbnail of your entire table. Linoit works very well on any modern browser. The service also had the good idea to make available of Dedicated mobile apps for tablets and smartphones iOs and Android.

Each virtual table can be shared by email or on social networks via a unique URL. Only small regret Linoit does not provide code to embed a table on a site or blog.  (In fact if he provides it but we must look for …merci to Cecilia who tells us how to do it in the comments )

In the classroom.

Linoit can be useful to provide a group of students or students with a kind of classroom dashboard with shared information, memos and resources. The tool is simple enough to offer it as a curation tool to students in school work.

That's it, I found the possible code to insert in his blog! It is therefore officially possible:
Above the to choose at the top left, click on the i (between My page, and Help). The URL, HTML link and source code are obtained for insertion.
Your only "little regret" is to forget 😉.

Hello I read carefully your letter and tips, thank you very much.
I tried lino (no more space on Padlet) I asked the students to drop off their production but what bad news when I realized that I can not download more than 10 documents per month , how I will do to recover the other 20 🤔correction works next month …. so be careful not to drop too many resources on it
