Hashcut is a small utility that will allow you to to retrieve in the simplest way in the world an excerpt from a video on YouTube.
If you have ever tried even once to share an excerpt from a YouTube video, you may have noticed that this is less simple than it seems. Most of the time you have to download the video first and then use an editor or a Video Editing Software to make an extract.
Hashcut’s main interest is to allow you to achieve the same result, but directly from your browser in two steps three movements.
Hashcut takes the form ofan extension for the Chrome browser. Once installed you will see a new "Start Recording" button appear under YouTube videos. When you want to retrieve an excerpt from a video, just click on it to mark the start of the excerpt. When you want to stop, click on "End Recording". It is as simple as that. Then all you have to do is share your video clip by email or on social media. You can also insert it on a website or blog. Practical.
