XtraMath is a web and mobile app that allows children to practice mental calculus and to memorize the elementary rules of calculation. A simple and fun tool to use alone or in class.
XtraMath comes in several versions for mobiles and tablets as well as a completely free online version on the web. The principle is simple, but effective. The child is trained in a game in which he or she must answer the questions put to him or her in limited time. He has three seconds for each question to write the correct answer.
Time-limited responses to motivate students.
If the answer is given on time and it is correct, the student gets a smiley 🙂 If he gives the answer within the first 10 seconds, he gets a green check mark. At the 10-second hustle the correct answer appears and the player must copy it to move on to the next question. Once the sequence is complete, each one lasts about 2 minutes, the app displays the overall results that show the student’s progress. Personalised certificates punctuate and motivate the child’s progress.
Everything looks simple and easy, but the program hides its game. Gradually, depending on the analysis of the answers given by each student, it will adapt the level and the questions asked.
XtraMat can also adapt to classroom use by a teacher.
This is one of the strengths of the tool. You will be able to create a teacher account and then create as many classes as you want. You will then be able to register your students. The application will give them a 4-digit code that will allow them to access the programme.
The designers of XtraMath have planned everything. You will be able to print a list of codes for the class. You can even associate the parents with a model letter that you just have to print. The teacher always has an overall view of the results and progress of the whole class, but also of the progress of each student.

The application on the web is free of charge. Please note that this is not the case for applications for smartphones and tablets, which will cost you around EUR 5.
