Last updated on 12 May 2026

Deconstruct sexist stereotypes from an early age. This is the task being tackled by a series of around 20 small animated films co-produced by Gaumont, which will be broadcast throughout the year on the youth programmes of the biggest television channels.

This series of animated films is accompanied by a pedagogical booklet on gender equality and the deconstruction of gender stereotypes produced by the Clémi It's quite remarkable. It is aimed at kindergarten to sixth grade teachers, educators and more broadly at all education professionals.

16 small films to stimulate children's reflection on gender bias

This series of 16 short animated films is a real success. The films were designed by writers and directors Franck Salomé, Nicolas Sedel and Fernando Worcel, and illustrator Sandrine Acquistapace, with the association Watchdogs and CLEMI, and produced by the company 2 minutes and Gaumont.

Beautifully drawn and colorful, the films will allow children to meet Jaja the panther, Gégé the beaver, Kiki the sheep and all their friends. Children like the others who have like all children tons of a priori in everyday life.

Gender Stereotypes

The narrative principle of these films is to confront very young viewers with these sexist stereotypes to arouse their empathy, push them to question their prejudices and understand that being born girl or boy, big or small, crocodile or panther, should not determine what life will be like.

A Clemi pedagogical booklet to deconstruct sexist stereotypes

To accompany the distribution of this series, CLEMI publishes an excellent pedagogical booklet demonstrating its know-how in the field. The aim is to enable teachers to set up actions with their students in media education on the theme of equality between girls and boys.

Appearance, behavior and becoming or desires for orientation. Or in other words, "What a girl or a boy should look like." "Do it like a girl, like a boy" and finally what a "woman's trade" or a "man's trade".

The booklet proposes a reading grid of the episodes to dialogue with the class then a beautiful series of ideas of activities to be carried out with the children.

You will also find in this free booklet maps of each character in the series and beautiful posters for the class to print.

Ooh no owl, a great series and a great pedagogical booklet to say "It's nicer when you respect yourself!"
