QuickCast is a tool that makes it possible to make screencasts very easily or screenshots in video and then broadcast them on the net.
QuickCast is an application for mac (the windows version is under development) linked to a website. It differs from the many existing tools its ease of use and the quality of the screencasts produced.
Screencast is a video recording that records what you do on your computer screen while you comment on it with your voice. The perfect format to make a simple tutorial for your students. With Quickcast each recording made can be saved on your computer and/or kept online on the QuickCast site to allow you to share it easily.
The use, as has been said, is very simple. Once the application is downloaded and installed on your Mac, you will have access to a dedicated menu at the top of your screen. This is where you can start a recording and adjust the different options of your screencast. You can decide to record the whole screen or only part of it. You can film yourself at the same time and appear in a thumbnail at the top of your recording.
This unique QuickCast menu also provides access to the site and your latest recordings. Each record has a unique URL so you can easily share it via email or social media. You can also "embed" your recording on a blog or class site.
A simple tool that dedramatises the action of registering. You can stop and start over easily at any time. QuickCast can also be offered to students to allow them to make small tutorials.
The tool is completely free of charge. The only limit is the duration of the recordings. Three minutes max. To try?
