Google through its "Google cultural institute", of which I have already spoken here, invites you to an impressive virtual tour of the castles of the Loire.
Impressive is the term. The American firm has the means and technology to offer a breathtaking dive into our cultural heritage.
Already a partner of more than a thousand museums around the world, Google has just added 18 historic sites in the Loire Valley to its escarcelle this summer. Chambord, Chenonceau, Chinon, Fontevraud … all these great sites can be visited with interactive technology streetview by Internet users from all over the world.

You will be able to walk in the castles, but also in the gardens and move as you please with your mouse. Objects and works of art have also been digitised in very high definition allowing the visitor to zoom in at will to discover details invisible to the naked eye. Surprising.
Google also offers beyond virtual tours, to complete your dive with online exhibitions offering many documents, photos and explanatory texts.
To date 48 virtual tours in the castles of the Loire are proposed by Google. They are enriched by aerial shots of the sites vertically in order to model in 3D the historical architectures.

The opportunity to review the sites and castles that you may already know and also those that you do not know. I would advise you, for example, to push the door of the Château du Clos-Lucé towards Amboise. It is the last residence of Leonardo da Vinci that has just opened its doors to the public after a very long restoration that lasted for many years. That's great. You will also be able to enter the studio where the Italian artist made the last works of his life.
An impeccable realization and a small glimpse of what virtual reality technologies have in store for us for the next few years.
