Ina Jalons. Hundreds of audiovisual resources for the classroom

Last updated on 12 May 2026

The INA Jalons Portal is a rich educational portal with more than 1850 audiovisual documents downloadable from 1914 to the present day, from the filmed press, television and radio. A real cave of Ali Baba to prepare or enrich his classes or presentations. It would be a real shame to deprive you of it, access to the whole site is free for teachers via the portal of the Ministry Eduthèque. You can also create access for your students.

Pushing the door of Jalons is a real happiness. You will find yourself in the archives of the Institut National de l’Audiovisuel, selected and scripted by INA specialists. They did a hell of a good job.

Audiovisual resources to support school programs

All materials on the site have been selected to inform the school curriculum. Premier degree, but also second degree, many subjects are covered:plastic arts, music education, physical and sports education, media and information education, moral and civic education, French, geography, history, history of the arts, literature, economic and social sciences, science and technology.

Each video presented is enriched a complete documentary notice, an update on the historical context and overall lighting. Finally, each medium offers the synchronized integral transcription of the soundtrack. You will be able to review great speeches by Mendès France or Malraux while appreciating the literary quality of these same speeches.

All these multimedia resources are available to help you illustrate a course or for your students to use in their turn to prepare a group work or a presentation. Recently, the site has even made it possible to cut videos to retain only one extract.

Remarkable multimedia navigation means

To help you find yourself in this treasure chest, the INA offers access by level and discipline as well as a powerful and fast search engine. I also love two other ways of browsing offered by the site. First, a multimedia chronological fresco that allows you to navigate through the years and a map of the world where all the videos on the site are geolocated.

It is also possible to choose thematic pedagogical paths and create workbooks to share with his students.

Whether for your lessons or simply for fun, the Jalons de l’INA website is a real success and a high-quality resource like only the major houses dedicated to knowledge, such as the BNF or major museums They know how to propose.

If you are in France, as a teacher you can access the entire INA Jalons website free of charge through the portal Eduthèque and by registering with your academic address.
