Les Rencontres de l’Orme 2019. A great edition in perspective

Last updated on 12 May 2026

The 2019 edition of the Rencontres de l’Orme promises to be exciting. The central theme of this annual meeting of digital education professionals, which has become essential, opens up many avenues of work and reflection: "Digital citizenship, digital citizen".

The meetings of the Orme 2019, organised by the Regional Directorate Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur de Réseau Canopy are held the 25 and 26 April in Marseille in the magnificent Palais des Congrès du Pharo. The participants are very lucky.

This year’s edition already promises to be a highlight for this exhibition, which continues to grow in importance by bringing together each year the main players in the hexagonal ‘edtech’ sphere. In other words, next week all those working for the development of digital technology in education will meet in Marseille: teachers, researchers, local authorities, associations, publishers and industrialists. A development that holds in a few figures: 2000 vexpected isitors, about 100 intervenants, more than 100 exhibitors, almost as many pResentations of innovative devices, projects and services.

A theme for this 2019 edition: the notion of citizenship in the digital age

Many events and exchanges will focus on this central theme. Participants will try to answer the many questions that arise around this theme.

  • How does the school contribute to the various challenges of knowledge and exercise of the law, commitment and adherence to the values that form the basis of a human and humanist community?
  • What digital school uses and practices for informed citizenship?
  • What is the management of digital personal data in the school domain?

The kick-off for these days of exchanges will be a conference on Thursday by Gilles DOWEK, researcher at INRIA and professor at ENS Paris-Saclay.

  2. Digital creativity;
  3. Working together;
  4. the commons of knowledge and digital technology;
  5. Building digital citizenship through use;
  6. Develop critical thinking with media and information.

You will of course be able to visit the different areas of the show freely and among them, the numerous exhibition stands, a lab dedicated to games, robotics and media or a demo area or 15-minute presentations will allow you to discover the latest digital innovations.
