SVTFlix. AI-generated podcasts to master the SVT spec

Last updated on 19 June 2025

What if revising the SVT specialty became as simple as listening to a podcast? This is the successful bet of Grégory Michnik, a teacher at the Lycée de l’Escaut in Valenciennes, the brilliant author of SVTFlix.

Concretely, it has transformed the entire terminal programme into short podcasts, designed to be easily integrated into students’ daily lives. The title of the site is a nod to the famous streaming platform Netflix, the interface of the site as well.

Behind this familiar interface hides a smart use of artificial intelligence, put at the service of learning. Great.

SVTFlix

A platform designed for students

From the first connection, SVTFlix’s interface is similar to the streaming platforms that high school students use on a daily basis.

This familiar ergonomics is no coincidence : it allows an immediate and intuitive handling. The contents, organized in the form of podcasts from 5 to 10 minutes, cover the entire terminal SVT specialty programme. Each important notion is the subject of a dedicated episode, accessible via an integrated search engine.

One of the main strengths is the freedom offered by the audio format. Students can revise during their journeys, between classes or by doing something else. They no longer have to sit at a desk, a manual in hand. The tone of the podcasts is deliberately alive: each episode is based on a dialogue between two voices, which makes listening more fluid, almost natural. The result is bluffing. All the more bluffing as podcasts are automatically generated by artificial intelligence.

🎙 Behind the scenes of the project

That is unbelievable. It is NotebookLM, one of the Google artificial intelligence tools that I have already mentioned Here, which is at the heart of the process of creating podcasts.

Grégory Michnik has integrated his own course in PDF format, and the tool generated educational dialogues based on this data. The result: clear and well-paced exchanges between two voices, one male and the other female, which set out the concepts of the programme with clarity and precision.

What is quite surprising is the ability of AI to enrich content with anecdotes or examples that were not included in the original courses. This often brings a different, sometimes unexpected, but generally relevant light. In a interview with our friends at Café Pédagogique, the author of the site explains that out of all the podcasts created, very few had to be taken over.

NotebookLM sometimes offers unexpected elements, which enrich the content in surprising and generally positive ways..

Example of podcast svt

A pedagogical project impossible without the help of artificial intelligence

To achieve SVTFLix without AI would have taken weeks or even months. The time saving here is considerable : the production of all audio content required only one big day of work. This efficiency is not at the expense of quality: each podcast is structured, clear and faithful to the official programme, since AI has worked from the author’s courses.

A resource in line with current uses

SVTFlix is shining evidence thatit is possible to integrate artificial intelligence into teaching practices without losing the sense of teaching. It is not a gadget or a simple revision aid: it is a new way of approaching school content, in line with students’ digital habits.

The platform is of course completely free. Listening to these podcasts may make other teachers in other subjects want to follow the example of the great creator of SVTFlix. If so, do not forget to notify me and send me the links.

While waiting for a big congratulations to Grégory Michnik!!! You can consult this "netflix" of the svt on svtflix.netlify.app. A simple, accessible resource that offers another way to transmit knowledge.

    Hello,

First of all, a big thank you for the work you are doing. I am the digital manager of a college and your site is a gold mine for me and my colleagues.

I just wanted to point out that the SVTFlix article does not appear, or at least displays for a second before disappearing.

    Sincerely,

    Serge Macasdar
