Word clouds are a graphic form that finds many fields of application in the classroom. Here are three online tools that make it easy to create keyword clouds for all your projects in seconds.
Graphic representation of words and concepts is a simple method to help understand, assimilate or memorize a text.
I had already proposed to you Here is a list of 4 tools to make keyword clouds. Here are three new tools to complete this first list.

Three free online tools to create word clouds in a simple, fast and personalized way.

Table of Contents

Tagxedo

Tagxedo

This online tool offers an impressive choice of options to personalise your word clouds. You can submit in a very classic way a text, but also and among others a web address, a twitter account or an rss thread. You will also have a large choice of formats for the final result. A real cloud factory. I particularly appreciated, among other things, the possibility of obtaining a cloud of words in the shape of the silhouette of a given image.

Tagul

Tagul

A tool perhaps even more powerful than the previous one. Tagul offers many options to get custom word clouds. Shapes, typographies, colours, size, everything is infinitely customizable. Like Tagxedo, Tagul also offers an integrated shop that allows you to order objects: cups, bowls, t-shirts and other mouse pads decorated with the cloud of words that you will create. I liked the possibility of creating an interactive cloud where every word in the cloud has a url link. You will then be able to insert it in your blog or classroom site.

Wordsalad

WordSalad

Wordsalad is the possibility to create word clouds but on mobile. This tool offers versions for iOs and Android to create clouds on smartphones and tablets in a tactile and intuitive environment. You can also export the result to your mobile device and share it directly with your address book. WordSalad is free for its basic functions. You will have to pay a little less than €3 to benefit from the premium version.

I often use Wordle to illustrate blog posts, and I just tried Tagxedo. The use is simple and the options very nice.

    Thank you.

Thank you for sharing on word clouds. I love it!
I immediately tried Tagul to see ….
Very interesting to use in pedagogy to work on the vocabulary of a theme that can be grouped in an image, a shape symbolising this theme! And it’s beautiful too!
I put a link on my website.

Hello and thank you for the great news you put online. I adopt a lot of things for my class.
Just one question: do you know of an online app that would make it possible to generate a ‘pretty text shaped in the blink of an eye’ … from a text written by a student … poetry style … and copied/pasted in this … app A bit like Tagxedo or wordle but for a complete text and not just a mix of words …
    Thank you in advance!!

You will be able to put a beautiful background image. But that may not be what you are looking for.

Cirrus is worth looking at. It is less configurable but at least it can recognise French. http://voyant-tools.org/tool/Cirrus

Hello and thank you for your tools, I will try them!

Would one (or another) of these apps make it possible to create a cloud by collecting the words of ‘people’ who would submit their words via a link (e.g. to obtain the opinion of an audience)
