Carmen is a video clip of the famous Belgian singer Stromae who wishes to raise awareness among young and old alike Risks of social media addiction.
Stromae is doing public health work by diverting Carmen’s ‘Take care of yourself!!’ to attract the attention of young Twitter users at risk of isolation caused by excessive use of social networks.
The clip Carmen by Stromae is a fantastic metaphor in which an adorable little blue bird accompanies young people and becomes increasingly voracious and aggressive as they grow up. A bird that grows at a glance with the rhythm of the number of followers and becomes heavier and heavier on the shoulders of the one who will ultimately be its victim.
The lyrics of Stromae’s song Carmen kindly mock the sometimes dangerous influence of Twitter and through Twitter of social networks in general. The video clip is much rawer, much more violent, much darker.
Beautiful work by director Sylvain Chomet He directed the film "Les Triplettes de Belleville". In Stromae’s video, we find Chomet’s unique and offbeat graphic universe, a mixture of fantastic sweet nostalgia and black humor.
The clip Carmen by Stromae is here. Turn up the sound.
In the end an educational video to be widely disseminated to warn against the Dark Side of Twitter.
