What site to advise teenagers to talk about their sexuality? There are many sites that provide information about young people's sexuality. One of them is particularly interesting both in terms of content and form: Onsexpress
It is the site of the OnSEXprime system, run by Santé publique France and intended for adolescents aged 12 to 18. The agency refers to ‘sexual health social marketing’. Clearly: pick up teens where they are already looking for their answers, i.e. online and among themselves.
The site was completely redesigned in 2022. New graphic identity, mobile-first navigation, reorganised and rewritten sections from a teenager’s point of view. If you had consulted it before that date, you will not recognise it. It includes the body and puberty, relationships, consent, contraception, STIs, sexual orientations and gender identities, but also violence and harassment.
A portal of public utility to discuss this topic of sexuality among young people with great teenagers.
Informing young people about their sexuality
In the age of the internet, it is increasingly difficult to Communicating about sexuality with young people. There are many ways to do this online. Specialists agree: This can be very detrimental to a young person’s self-esteem if they feel they have no right to talk to anyone about their sexuality.
OnSexpression addresses all topics of sexuality for young people
The result is up to the task. From the graphic line, to the organisation of the headings and the level of language used, everything contributes to clear and affordable information for the audience targeted by the site. The videos are numerous and the illustrations use the codes known to young people.
The site is now divided into seven sections, all formulated from the young person’s point of view:
- Genders and orientations. Gender identities and sexual orientations, with voluntary non-prescriptive entry: ‘defining myself, if I feel the need to do so’.
- The bodies and their changes. Puberty, anatomy, taking care of your body.
- The criteria we are required to meet. Normality, pornography, social networks. The most interesting section on the critical side.
- Relationships. Family, friends, online relationships, love.
- Sexuality. Consent, first time, practical.
- Protect yourself. Contraception, STI, screening.
- Dealing with abuse. Law, rights, harassment, cyberbullying, where to turn.
Each section mixes short articles, videos and FAQs. The DicoSexo has been replaced by a more readable "Definitions" page. A directory "Find a professional" allows you to locate a sexual health center or a practitioner near you. A cat provides access to psychologists and educators specialising in adolescence. There is also a ‘Parents’ area’, which is useful to report to families at a meeting.
On the paper side, Santé publique France provides downloadable and orderable brochures free of charge. The main one, Teenage questions, was completely overhauled in 2025: revised texts, new graphic charter, and above all a split into two versions instead of one. The 11-14 year old version is available, the 15-18 year old version is announced for 2026. In addition, there is Question Contraception, Question IST, The first gynaecological consultation, and a booklet ‘Helping to express and hear consent’, which offers turnkey sessions.
Everything is free, without account, without advertising. The site is in French only and declares itself to be ‘partially compliant’ in terms of accessibility, which remains a weak point for students equipped with screen readers.
Campaigns designed also for social networks
OnSexpression is no longer limited to its website. Public Health France also broadcasts its content on TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram and YouTube, where teenagers go to find their answers.
Several campaigns run in parallel with the site: #AnnoyingOupas, Reso Tuto, Sexo Tuto, Ok/not OK about consent, and especially Askip about sexuality. The latter is a web series of short videos where teenagers ask a question and a professional answers in less than two minutes. Doctor, midwife, sociologist, sexologist. It was the first French public health campaign on TikTok, and it was awarded in 2021.
For a teacher, these videos are usable as is. A minute and a half, a specific subject, an expert reply: What to start a discussion without having to speak alone. The episodes are grouped together on Onsexpression’s YouTube channel, which avoids projecting TikTok into the classroom with its recommendation feed and ads.
Internet and sexuality among young people
The site Onsexpress provides a reliable source and useful links for many teenagers. All these young people who are looking on the internet and social networks for answers to questions they have about sexuality and theirs in particular.
