PrimaryPad is a tool of Collaborative word processing Specially designed for the world of education.
PrimaryPad is one of those new TICE tools that work in the cloud and make it possible to no longer worry about software to install, operating systems or compatibility. PrimaryPad works from any browser on a computer connected to the Internet.
Its main function is to enable a teacher and students to work together and at the same time on a text document. All in real time. Even though PrimaryPad’s interface is in English, it is intuitive and easy to use.
You create as many Pads or white sheets as you want. Each new PAD can be shared by email. To do this, the tool provides you with a unique URL that will have to be sent to the different collaborators of the same document.
You can start a collaborative text from a blank sheet, but You can also upload an existing document in Word or Open Office format. Once in the PrimaryPad interface, each author is identified by a specific colour and each author can intervene directly on the shared text. Everything happens live and all the co-authors see the document evolve in real time.
To enable remote collaborative work, PrimaryPad had the good idea to add to its word processing an online chat system allowing participants to chat together in parallel. Practical.
To avoid any risk of loss or overwriting of a version of the document, PrimaryPad automatically saves your work. You can also trigger a manual backup. The tool keeps a backup history allowing you to go back. The last 10 versions of the same document are kept.
Once the writing job is done, you can download the final document to your computer and save it in different formats : Word or PDF.
PrimaryPad offers a fully functional free version that allows you to work with a group of up to 50 employees. On the other hand, each CSA is only kept for 30 days. A paid version lifts all these limits and adds additional functions such as the ability to use templates or to set a password to limit access to a document.

Eh ben … It is exactly like Framapad, it works on the basis of Etherpad. There are just the font size, style and text alignment tools that have disappeared.
Except that on Framapad, it is completely free and you can keep your different pads simply by creating an account (free).

No big differences, Framapad is also a great free option. PrimaryPad that I tested has exemplary robustness for group work if it is important. I will be curious to know the uses you make of Framapad in class?
