MapJam. Create custom maps

MapJam is an online tool that allows to create and share beautiful personalized maps.

MapJam is a great tool for produce maps with geolocated points of interest containing multimedia information. Originally intended for all those who need to create a plan of access to a place, MapJam can also very easily be used in a school setting.

Using MapJam is quite simple. It is necessary and sufficient to indicate the address of the place where you want to focus your map or map. As soon as you start typing your address, MapJam's search engine starts and offers you places corresponding to what you write.

The map appears with a green arrow pointing to the exact address. Yours can like on Google Maps zoom in or out in the map and then you will be able to edit your map.

The editing functions of MapJam are numerous. In particular, you can choose the service that provides the mapping of your plan. (Bing, Google Openstreet maps and many others)

You will then be able to create an interactive sheet for the point you want to locate on your map. The fiche shall consist of a title, a photo, a description and possibly one or more links. Perfect for creating a classic access map to a place. But MapJam goes further by allowing you to use these cards to insert multimedia elements.

You can embed videos, sounds, images from the main existing platforms on the web (Youtube, Dailymotion, Spotify, SoundCloud, Flickr…etc) More than 200 services are supported. Simply copy the link from the page that contains the media you want to insert and paste it into MapJam.

The site also offers collect points of interest in a single map created by moreiuers users. Perfect for group work.

Everything is customizable on MapJam including the arrow that places your point of interest on the map. Once your card has been finalised, all you have to do is save it in your private area. You can create maps that will be shared with all users of the site or private maps that you can share via a single url provided by the service with people of your choice. This url can even be customized if you wish.

An excellent tool that produces very nice cards that you can share by email or on social networks. You can also insert them on a site or blog and even print them for a newspaper or leaflet.

    How to make successively appear an illustrated sheet (with photo, link or other content as for the main mark) on each of the points "new note", spotted on the map.
