The international meetings in Arles, One of the world’s largest photography festivals offers a new online platform for photography education and resources.
Arles has always been keen to involve a popular education approach in the festival to enable young people but also the general public to learn how to read and make images. The ‘Photographers’ workshop’ platform is yet another concrete proof of this approach and commitment.
The workshop invites you to discover 20 images of 20 photographers. A mosaic of images from which you will be able to enter with a single click. Behind each of them, you will be able to discover the author and his artistic intention. Biography, interview, analysis of the work and the image presented, links and multimedia complements. A mine.
Beyond this first approach, the photographers’ workshop also offers, and this is arguably the most interesting a series of hands-on workshops for use with students. A section for facilitators and educators offering thematic workshop sessions to be facilitated and personalised according to objectives and groups within and outside school time.
For each photograph, for each author, several workshops are offered that cross different disciplines writing, visual arts, photographic practice, … reading Most of the sequences last 30 minutes. They can also be used to build a route.
On the occasion of the launch of this new platform, the Arles Festival is organising a national competition. To participate, one of the workshops offered by the photographers’ workshop must be carried out and a photograph of the work must be sent by email.
This educational tool for mage is free of charge. To have access to the workshop sheets, you will simply need to register online.
