Figures of notes is a very nice site, proposed by the Orchestre Philharmonique de Paris, which makes it possible to discover all the instruments of an orchestra in a playful form.

Figures of notes invites you to dive into the heart of a great orchestra classical music. From an animated infographic, you will be able to choose to discover the different families of instruments in the orchestra: brass, wood, strings, percussion.
Each instrument is then presented in detail with a video showing one of the orchestra’s musicians explaining their instrument. The videos are accompanied by a lot of information about the history, how to use the instrument and its place in the orchestra. Each instrument is linked with a proposal for new videos with other instruments close to it. Useful.

After the discovery, Figures of Notes offers you to move on to the game. A fun way to check what has been retained when discovering the orchestra’s instruments and also to test your students’ musical ears. It is a musical quiz with three levels. To switch from one to the other, you must not make too many mistakes or you will be returned to the start box.
