Clozemaster is a free application to maintain and enrich your vocabulary in a foreign language. The idea is to help you learn vocabulary in a natural way by offering you simple sentences to complete.
Rather than memorizing lists of words like many Apps that allow you to learn vocabulary in a language, Clozemaster has chosen to offer them to you in the context of everyday sentences. Natural learning that contributes to a better knowledge of the language you are learning.
Clozemaster plays simplicity. The app works on your computer’s browser, but it is also available as a mobile version for your smartphone or tablet.
You will need to register if you want to keep your progress and scores, but you can also use the application without prior registration. You must first choose your mother tongue and then the language you want to practice. You have the choice, Clozemaster offers no less than fifty foreign languages.
Clozemaster will offer you regular sentences and ask you to complete a missing word. Going to the preferences, you will be able to define whether the player should find the word by typing it or whether they will be able to choose it from a multiple-choice drop-down list. You can also decide whether the translation of the proposed sentence is displayed or not.
Another good idea of Clozemaster designers, after finishing a sentence, it is read aloud by a native speaker. They read clearly, but at a pace of conversation. This helps to make you feel comfortable and hear the words spoken in a normal way in a conversation.
The application offers you sets of ten questions and a points system to mark your progress. A good idea and a good realization even if there is no option to solve the difficulty of the proposed vocabulary and sentences. Clozemaster is therefore not suitable for students taking their first steps in a language.
Clozemaster offers a premium paid version with additional features, but the free version is more than enough for most needs.
