Fake news. An educational exhibition to discuss fake news and other infox

Last updated on 12 May 2026

Stories of fake news, this is the title ofa salutary pedagogical exhibition offered by the artistic and cultural education department of the BNF in partnership with CLEMI. Excellent initiative that has the merit of putting in a historical context this phenomenon of fake news of which we talk so much.

Stories of fake news

Through historical documents, the BNF exhibition offers useful avenues of reflection to allow discussion and cultivate the necessary doubt about the sources of information in the digital age.

11 posters to download to discuss fake news with young people

BNF documentalists have done a great job in the form of posters made available free of charge on the library website. You can download them freely in low or high definition for better printing. As always the quality of the graphic work, and editorial work of the BNF teams They are irreproachable.

Misinformation, lies, hoax, propaganda … the creations of the BNF sweep almost exhaustively the different forms that have always taken false information.

Fakenews

The story of the fake news, Pastiches et houlars, Sensational and media crash, Calomnie et defamation, La Propaganda, Rumeurs, Complotisme, Science sans confidence … are for the chapter heads who benefit for each of them from a complete poster to explain the phenomenon.

Pub

Each poster offers facsimiles of period documents that serve as illustrations of the central purpose displayed through short and clear texts. The editorial result is really neat and quality.

Using history to better understand the present

This educational exhibition ends with three posters that address current events. The first is entitled: Info + Intox = Infox. Today, according to the poster, digital information is both a boon and a risk. The challenge is to show discernment between official speeches and other ‘truths’ claimed.

EMI

The last two posters are tools to help young people "see more clearly". Two toolkits, collective tools and individual tools, to engage in fact checking before resuming, disseminating, spreading information or news around you.

Excellent initiative of the BNF and Clemi with this exhibition in public utility posters.
