Everyone knows about Microsoft products, starting with Word word processing. But did you know that Office 365 included amazing immersive learning tools?
This is the case for Microsoft’s immersive reader. Useable in different editor tools (Edge Browser, OneNote, Teams, Microsoft Forms, Word Online, FlipGrid), the immersive reader gives learners one-click access to definitions of terms that are beyond their reach … But that’s not all. Overview of an integrated tool that deserves to be known.

How does Microsoft's immersive player work?
The Immersive Reader is a free tool that will make it easier to read a text. It uses different techniques that will make it easier for users of all ages to read. It will be very useful for students with dyslexia and dysgraphy or ADD, in the classroom or at home. It is a great tool for inclusion.
To activate the Immersive Reader in Word go through the View tab and click on ‘Immersive Reader’. It works the same way for One Note or Outlook.

Three good reasons to use the immersive reader to help with reading
The immersive reader will quickly become a must, offering a definite advantage in education, for at least three reasons:
- Microsoft's immersive reader is able to read aloud in French but also in English for example. Quality is at the rendezvous. The learner can then choose his or her own speed: from the turtle to the rabbit, the immersive reader adapts to the reader’s needs to keep pace with his or her understanding.
- Because a picture is worth a thousand words. the immersive reader has a picture maker or dictionary of images : the young reader may see a conceptual image appear when reading the associated word. Whether we talk about foreign languages or concepts that are a little more abstract, we quickly understand the full potential of imagining it.
- The immersive reader gives you the opportunity to analyse the grammar of the texts. It makes it possible to isolate verbs, nouns, adjectives and adverbs and to assign them colours and labels! Learners can use the tool to improve vocabulary and grammatical comprehension …
Reading aloud rhythmic, imaginary, helps with grammar, but also the possibility of visually spacing lines of text for better visual comfort, decompositions of the … syllables All these tools are available in the same place.
