Jamf Safe Internet. Feedback on one of the devices presented during the webinar

In a blog post, Jamf shares with us the feedback from the Immaculate Conception College in Biarritz, the main lessons of which are set out below.

College Webinar

The Immaculate Conception College in Biarritz integrated the iPad in 2014, aiming to make students involved in their education. Managed via Jamf Pro and then Jamf School since 2018, this project has transformed pedagogy, fostering interaction and content creation by students.

However, protecting students online has become an issue. Attempts at restriction proved ineffective, pushing the establishment towards Jamf Safe Internet for content filtering and network protection. Patrice Poix, the head of the school, testifies to the effectiveness of this solution in managing internet access, both at school and at home.

The implementation of Jamf Safe Internet was fast, bringing serenity to teachers and reassuring parents. This solution made it possible to use iPads securely.

One year later, “the record is very satisfactory. This tool is effective and meets the institution’s expectations for the use of the iPad”, enchanted Patrice Poix, Head of School

“I am also discovering the potential of this tool as it is used, especially in the analysis of websites, and the security of users (protection against spam, phishing and other malware). All these data are essential in the evolution of a school’s strategy.”

Today, the iPad is an essential educational tool within the college, with well-defined rules to promote learning.

On the administrator side, it is a real comfort because the tool is effective and requires very few interventions (e.g. authorising a site at the request of a teacher or checking in which category the site is classified). Administrators only have to tick rules defined according to categories to apply the pedagogical team’s strategy.

The next step? Personalise filtering via Jamf Safe Internet according to the age of the students, aiming at a reasoned and secure use of digital tools.
