Update March 2018 – This site seems to no longer exist –
Present.me is an online tool that allows to create presentations mixing your slides with presenter video.
Slides and you. It is the slogan of this new service that greatly facilitates the creation of multimedia presentations for the classroom or for distance learning. Present.me creates a presentation by dividing the screen in two. On the one hand, you will be able to scroll through your slides, on the other hand, thanks to a simple webcam, you will be able to record and present your slides in sound and video.
It is as simple as that and it works very well. Present.me will save your presentation and then store it online so that you can easily broadcast it via email, social networks or on a site or blog thanks to a small code to install on your pages.
This service allows you to upload your presentations without any difficulty. Present.me accepts most formats. Pdf, Excel, Word, Google DOcs or Open Office. It will then be enough to activate your webcam and record your presentation while you switch the slides to the keyboard. If you're wrong, don't worry, Present.me includes a simple editing tool that allows you to stop your recording, go back and resume. Once you're done, just click on the "publish" button and you'll be ready to share via email or social media.
Note that when you create a presentation you can also choose not to insert your video, but only sound. The student attending your presentation will be able to navigate the different slides with a single click, Present.me will position your voice and video in real time in the right place. The presentations created with this tool are compatible with mobile tools whether smartphones or tablets.
In the classroom.
Present.me makes it quite easy to record a course or presentation as part of a distance learning course offer. Uses can be very numerous. From reading a book for a small class to an exercise for students who can use Present.me to create an original CV.
Present.me offers a free, but limited version. The paid versions are quite expensive, but the publisher offers a very low education price which must be requested on the website.
