Art images is a free site that allows to discover, collect and share more than 500 000 images of masterpieces belonging to the collections of French museums. A real happiness.

Images d’art thus offers an open database of thousands of artists and around 500,000 works. A sort of great ‘Pinterest like’ that showcases the works of French museums that the Photographic Agency has digitised and documented.
There are the great classics of major museums but also less well-known works less accessible. Images d’Art presents itself as a kind of visual search engine. You can do a full keyword search. You can also search by authors, periods, museums, techniques or …par couleurs.
This last entry is quite original, since you just have to choose a colour from the proposed palette to see all the works that correspond to this shade immediately.
Your search results are displayed in the form of a gallery. By clicking on an image you access its complete sheet. Description of the work, museum that owns it, information and links to Wikipedia for additional information. Images d’Art offers you or suggests other works related to your research.
But the real good idea of the site is the possibility to build personal collections. After a quick registration, you will be able to create albums in which you can pin your favorite works. A notebook of beautiful images web2 that you can then share with your friends, your students or with the whole world on social networks.
The creators of the site have done everything to facilitate sharing on social networks or by email or by allowing one or more tables to be integrated into a site or blog. One way or another to participate in the wide dissemination of our heritage.
