A book for each Paris metro station

Do you know what a ‘bibliometrography’ is? This is a great idea from the librarians of Aulnay-sous-Bois, a town in the suburbs of Paris. They have just embarked on a great project that consists of offering selections of books related to the mapping of Parisian metro stations. One station, one reading.

Metro Books

The librarians of Aulnay started from the observation that their users are major users of public transport and that there was scope for fun while remaining on their core business, reading advice.

The fine team has therefore set itself the challenge of finding a book that has a link with each of the Paris metro stations. A Google Maps map with a reference card for each station. By clicking on a station, you get the sheet of a book with a note explaining the link with the station’s name. Some links are obvious, others original, a little more drawn by the hair 😉 But it works very well.

A nice idea that can be exported anywhere in France or around the world with stations of any means of public transport. If only this could make books reappear in the hands of transport users to replace smartphones and video games. When Literature Transportes You …
