WiseMapping is a tool that makes it possible to Make mind maps or mindmaps relatively easily. It has the advantage of operating online from any browser. It is free and open source.

Much has already been said about the value of a mind map in representing and structuring ideas, concepts, words. A mindmap offers a non-linear representation that facilitates the intuitive organisation of ideas around a central core. Mind maps also help with memorization by providing a clear and organized view of data or concepts.
There are many tools available online or in the form of applications to create mindmaps. I've introduced you to a few of them right here in the last few months. WiseMapping is not a newcomer. It has been around for several years now and offers an interesting and free solution for creating mind maps alone or with others. An excellent starting point for a smooth introduction to ‘Mindmapping’.
WiseMapping is in English, but most menus are translated into French which makes it easier to get started. Small help bubbles on each menu command make it easy to take over the different functions. It's almost all there. Not much is missing from WiseMapping to be the ideal tool. Everything is done with the end of the mouse simply. Expert users can even memorize a whole series of keyboard shortcuts to work even faster.
We start from a central core and then we will build all the ramifications gradually according to its needs. Everything is customizable blocks, links, typography … You can insert icons, notes, interactive links. Only small regret, no possibility to add images or videos directly in a bubble.

One of the strengths of WiseMapping is the ability to edit a multi-mental map. Interesting for teamwork. Sharing is done directly from the tool interface and you will be able to decide for each participant whether you allow them to edit the map or simply view it.
There is also nothing wrong with export functions. Once your card is complete, you can print it, export it as a PDF or image or retrieve a code to insert it on a website or blog.
In the end a good tool of Mindmapping free and open source for simple needs for your own use or to advise your students.
