ReactivePad is a tool, still experimental under development, which offers word processing toEasily insert dynamic calculations into narrative text. Surprising.
Imagine a tool that is a kind of mix of Word and Excel, this is what ReactivePad offers by soon adding, in a cherry-on-the-cake way, editing functions in collaborative mode.
Reactivepad offers an online collaborative text editor that will allow you to place calculations directly inside your narrative text. You will be able to create intelligent and interactive documents with a database combining text and calculation.
ReactivePad goes much further than the usual functions of Word or Google Docs that allow you to create or insert a spreadsheet into a word processor. Here you can insert expressions Mathematics and Automatic Calculations anywhere in the document, even in the middle of a sentence. For the referencing of formulas you will be able to use explicit names instead of coordinates of grids obscure and complicated to memorize.
If you are familiar with spreadsheets, you will be in familiar terrain and you will not encounter any difficulty in getting started. ReactivePad offers all Excel formulas and a first-character auto-entry system to help you find them easily.
There are many uses and this hybrid product can quickly be very practical in many situations for dynamic reports and working documents.
Still under development, ReactivePad plans regular updates and new features in the next few weeks. Two of them are imminent and highly anticipated. First of all, the possibility of editing a ‘computational text’ by several persons. Then the ability to dynamically connect your ReactivePad document to external APIs, databases, and other xls files.
At the moment ReactivePad is completely free, but again in beta-test. So, don't entrust it without backing up valuable data.
