Chronas

Chronas is a web application that displays a historical map with no less than 50 million data points. The card continues to get richer every day as each registered user can participate and contribute (to the Wikipedia or Vikidia). The project has so far convinced just over six thousand enthusiasts who regularly enrich it. It's dizzying.

The Chronas project maps 4000 years of world history (historical characters, events, cultures, … religions) on a map with links to related Wikipedia articles each time. This extraordinary map is enriched with many different markers such as people, battles, cities, castles, etc. All these elements can be linked to express a relationship between them.

Chronas also plans to complete each marker with multimedia boxes like videos, images or podcasts to create an even wider knowledge network.

On the map, you can navigate through the years using a cursor at the bottom of the screen that allows you to move around the timeline. You can also go to a specific year and then click on the icons shown to learn more about battles, characters and places.

The end result is unparalleled wealth. When you log in for the first time, this incredible map in world history offers you to choose from three types of displays depending on your hardware configuration and the quality of your connection.
